Your Child's Safety Is Our Main Priority!

Our staff of adult age certified life guards with years of experience are also child/adult CPR, AED and first aid responder certified. All our boat drivers are also boater safety certified through the state of Michigan and have obtained the necessary levels of educations to hold Coast Guard approved Charter Captains licenses. The lake itself is monitored by Oakland County Marine Sheriff and local DNR enforcement.

What Does My Child Need To Bring?

A popular question. We provide just about everything your child will need throughout the day. Daily snacks are given out each morning followed by a full buffet lunch and afternoon snack. Water stations for drinking are located on both sides of the island as well.  **Hoodies are also recommended for morning temps can be chilly sometimes. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU PUT A GOOD COAT OF SUNBLOCK ON YOUR CHILD BEFORE ARRIVING IN THE MORNING (We have at CHECK IN if you forget) NO CHILD GETS ON THE BOAT REGARDLESS OF WEATHER WITHOUT SUNBLOCK. WE WILL RE-APPLY SPRAY THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

How do I schedule Drop-in Days?

After you ordered drop-in days, your account will be updated to prepare you for scheduling those days throughout the summer. Please watch this video that shows you how to schedule your days

What happens if it rains or storms? Are you open?

Camp is camp we will be open please pack and dress your child accordingly. All our boats are completely covered with tops and sides to protect the children in the rain. If storming before camp we stay on land at the main lodge until it is safe to proceed to the island. We also stay on the island if weather turns bad during the day until it's safe to pass. The island has a many permanent structures built years ago that are used as shelter for safety in such instances. Simple summer rain showers just dampen but don't stop many of the island's activities as much of them are already set up in semi-permanent commercial grade structures to protect the children from the summer sun. Daily activities such as fishing, zip lining, games tent and arts and crafts are rarely disrupted in even the harshest of summer rains. Just realize that the island breezes make the temperature feel 10 degrees cooler. Add in the amount of shaded areas we have makes a strong suggestion for an old hoodie to ease the morning chills. Please remember to write your child's name on EVERYTHING!!

What are they eating?

All of our food is made from scratch each day. Two things NOT on the island...A deep fryer and peanuts. Each day the island kitchen prepares bread from scratch for pizza, garlic bread, cinnamon bread, banana bread ect. Sauce for pizza, spaghetti and lasagna is also made from scratch. Grilled hot dogs are offered every day. Lean proteins such as roasted chicken and turkey are also on the daily buffet along with fresh fruits, salads and vegetables. Plenty of fresh pasta dishes are also made daily such as homemade macaroni and cheese and tuna pasta and fettuccini alfredo.

State Licensed Camp

We are a state licensed day camp. While our size has grown through out the years our specialized way of child care has not. Our private island camp is set up with many different activity stations allowing children to have a choice in what they want to do each day. This type of supervision allows children to thrive in a group like atmosphere of their own choice. Small knit groups allow for the children to quickly find new friends and bond new relationships enabling every child to experience that "real outdoor adventure camp" feeling. Recommended age for our camp is 5 to 12 but we take loads of 4yr olds on a case by case basis and have a great specialized junior counselor program for 13 to 15 year olds. Call Camp Director Kathryn Chipman 248-789-2223 for specifics.

How do I change my method of payment?

When you make your first purchase for the year, your payment method is kept on file to make it easier if you want to add late-care, buy shirts or sweatshirts, or sign up for additional days/weeks of camp. If you need to change the method of payment, this is saved within the registration system, please watch this video.
